Summary

Without proper understanding and education of snare cable restrictions are often applied to regulations causing the loss of valuable choices in equipment selection. All snare cable is made of drawn wire and is not crucible. While all snare cable is multi wire it is not all multi strand. There exist two distinct types of snare cable in use. These are Single Strand (1x19) and Multi Strand (7x7 , 7x19). Snare cable is mad in either non galvanized, galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel in two distinct types of construction. These construction types alter the functionality and characteristics of the cable. Coated cables and stainless cables are not as environmentally friendly as non coated cable. Certain snare types can be used several times before becoming unusable. Both Single Strand and Multi Strand cable are valuable material for making snare equipment .

While some states verbally classify 1 x1 9 single strand cable as multi strand cable verbal "considerations" are not legally binding. IF 1X19 SINGLE STRAND IS "CONSIDERED" MULTI STRAND CABLE WHY IS THIS NOT WRITTEN INTO REGULATION AND TRAINING MATERIAL?

Conclusion

Without proper understanding and education about cable there will continue to exist improper restrictions on cable choices based on ignorance. Agency Training Manuals and Regulations contain false, misleading, prejudicial and promotional language resulting in improper education, restrictions and regulations. The solution this this growing problem is education and addressing such issues as they arise.
