CUSTOM ORDER SNARES

ALL CUSTOM ORDER SNARES ARE PRE-PAID ONLY

Before you order a custom (non-stock) snare, you need to understand how to give the snare a name so we can understand what you want. ALL Thompson Snares have a specific meaning for each number (or letter) in its' name. The following list describes what these letters and numbers refer to.

ORDERING CUSTOM ORDER SNARES

Find the snare closest to what you want to order, note the price and add the cost of additional snare wire length (per foot only). If you want to replace a snare part (or add a snare part) look up the price of the part you want to replace (or add) - see parts list page). deduct the cost of any removed parts and add the cost of any added parts. This is your "per snare" cost.
Example:
You want a Number 2 snare, 8 feet long with a heavy duty swivel (#4) on the end. Look up the price of a standard 2XX-72" snare. Then deduct the "part price" of a #2 tree lock. Next add the cost of a #4 swivel. this is your new cost per snare. This CUSTOM SNARE" is called a 2-"4S"-96. The "4S" indicates the swivel size. (If it was a "standard" swivel for this snare it would be called, simply, a 2S-96.

ALL CUSTOM ORDER SNARES ARE SOLD ON A PRE-PAY BASIS ONLY AND ARE NOT RETURNABLE.

FIRST NUMBER (00-0-1-2-3-4-5-6) indicates wire diameter:
00 = 1/32" / 0 = 1/16" / 1 = 5/64" / 2 = 3/32" / 3 = 7/64" / 4 = 1/8" / 5 = 5/32" / 6 = 3/16"
REMAINING NUMBERS refer to wire length in inches. (A snare with 2 lengths of wire will have 2 sets of numbers.)

LETTERS:
"S" indicates a SWIVEL
"TS" indicates a TREE LOCK-SWIVEL (can be used as either tree lock or swivel)
"XX" indicates a TREE LOCK type end tie.

EXAMPLES

A 2S-40 Snare uses #2 wire (3/32" dia). The snare length is 40". The snare has a Swivel on the end.

A 1TS-60 Snare uses #1 wire (5/64" dia). The snare length is 60". The snare has a combination use tree lock/swivel on the end.

A 2XX-72 Snare uses #2 wire (3/32" dia). The snare length is 72". The snare has a tree lock on the end.

A 4S60-60XX Snare uses #4 wire (1/8" dia). The snare has a 60" section with a neck lock and a swivel. Another 60" section of wire is attached to the swivel and has a tree lock on the end.

• Wire size:   wire diameter and length. (some states have a maximum length and minimum diameter)
• Noose type:   either with deer stop, release noose (include release weight requirements, combination of deer stop and release noose.
• Tie off end:   Several states now require a swivel tie off end.
• Additional:   Some states (such as New Jersey) require a ferrule on both sides of the neck lock. Be sure to include this if necessary!
